Sunday lunches
The family’s moment of truth
Nobody can stand the know-it-all uncle any more, the one who pretends to be an expert but cannot even get the nephews’ names right. Nor the brother who boasts about understanding football like few others, yet gets more scores wrong than lottery numbers. At every Sunday lunch, the same conversation: “I said it would be 2–1”. Funnily enough, they only say it after the match.
Time to put it all to the test. With WisePaul, everyone enters their prediction before the match and nobody can change it after the whistle. As soon as the match locks, you can see who predicted what and, at the end, who got it right. No “I told you so”, no predictions changed after kick-off, no cousin adding up points in a notebook.
Parents, cousins and grandparents join with a code, each on their own phone, wherever they are: matches show up in everyone’s local time and the platform comes in seven languages, for the family that spread across the world. The table shows everyone’s form, scoring streaks and the gap to the leader. And it is all just for fun: no betting and no money, only bragging rights.
When the competition ends, the family will finally have an official answer to the question it has argued over for years: who really knows football?
