The Eredivisie is the top division of Dutch football. Professionalism arrived in the country in 1954, and the professional league was born in 1956/57, with the title going to Ajax. It is a championship with a reputation for producing stars and for attacking football.
It was in the Netherlands that total football won over the world: Johan Cruyff’s Ajax won three European Cups in a row, from 1971 to 1973, and Feyenoord and PSV also reached the top of the continent. Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV share most of the national titles, but there have been surprises, such as AZ, champions in 1980/81 and 2008/09, and Twente, champions in 2009/10.
Over a long season, a prediction league is won through consistency. On WisePaul, each match locks at kick-off, other people’s predictions only become visible once the match has locked, results come in on their own and the table is recalculated after every match, with recent form, scoring streaks and progress matchday by matchday. Anyone joining while the season is under way counts only the remaining matches.
Request your league and we set up the competition and the rules for you; the organiser gets access and an invite code to share with the company, the family or the group of friends. All that is left is deciding who becomes the league champion.
